Manon Pohkang, 25, the victim's son, said he was shocked by the sudden loss. His father was the family bread winner and was trying to repay loans to a bank and loan sharks. "He was a nice man, who harmed no one," he said.

So he was not trying to recreate a scene from Grand Theft Auto as the Reuters article mentioned. It's all about a kid that claims his allowance wasn't enough and that his parents were the cause for the crime. That's the missing link that you don't see in the Reuters report. He wasn't senselessly stabbing someone for no reason.
This is a horrible crime, but the decision to pull the game seems harsh. Why blame the many for the sins of one? A 19-year-old high school student that stabs a taxi driver is not in perfect mental health, and to initially assume that the only thing to blame is Grand Theft Auto is disgusting.
